Hey if they have Elvis and A Team train sets, why not Century 21?

I found the set (Sorry, no photo, it's too tiny) and apparently it was made by none other than Walthers.Seriously, why does such a set exist. Those dang advertisers.

And why not? We're being railroaded by the government anyway.

Good looking set but $179.99 on eBay. I'm buying a nice DCC loco for that price if I had that much money.

But it's C-O-L-L-E-C-T-I-B-L-E And it's NUMBERED!

(Actually, something like that should be sold at at a discount because whoever gets that thing is going to have to strip the ridiculous Century 21 graphics off so they can be repainted)

As noted with the road numbers, the caboose is 1971, and the engine is 1996. Century 21 Real Estate was founded in 1971, and this was the 25th Anniversary set. $180 might be a bit steep for a commemorative set, but it's not TOO far out of line considering it's a boxed set with minimal tears. It'a a fairly big set with a loco, caboose and 6 pieces of rolling stock. Don't see it up for sale hardly ever, though. Interesting set, but probably not on my wishilist.

As noted, it's hand-built and the locomotive and box are serial numbered (out of 1000?). A nice little find, but a bit rich for me.

I think the quality of these pieces...of the whole set....are very good! Just a pet peeve of mine to see model railroad stuff painted in a beyond-fantasy scheme like this.
The truck is definitely Cox-heritage, as well as the flat car. The molds have obviously made it to Walthers.
