Well, today ( and last night ) I dug out all my loose coins, and this morning I sorted and packaged them for a trip to the bank. I wound up with 142.00 in silver money. I went thru 3 of my vehicles, my State quarter collection, and all my other loose change. Not bad! I had more than I thought. I'm extremely low on cash until next Thursday payday, so this is going to be my only expendable spending money until then, the bank account will be for gas, food, etc. So I do at least have some extra $'s now for the train show. Not planning on spending a "lot", but I always seem to spend what I take, there's so much good stuff I find. I'll try to restrain myself if possible.

Anyway, show is at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA near the airport, both Saturday and Sunday. 10-4 Saturday, and I think 11-4 Sunday. I haven't been to many lately, as the wife is on me to reduce my buying ( and to sell some ), plus I've been getting some good stuff through the Train Shop, too. One collection that just came in a few weeks ago had a dual-motored Mantua NY Central F9. I plan to buy that one from him. Still haven't gotten that Tyco Rolling bridge yet, but I want it. So I don't miss the shows as much as I could, due to the good stuff coming right to the shop I can pick through first. But I will see what I find at this local show tomorrow.

The show was huge, mostly due to the fact that they had way more Modular clubs displaying than I've ever seen before, usually 3-4, I think there were at least 6 there. Filled the whole place. I did spend some money, but tried to keep it to necessities. I had a circle of MTH O gauge track for my Lionel Polar Express, not near enough, I found some used 30 inch straights for reasonable, and got 4 of them so I now have an oval at least. Plenty of stuff to interest me, but being on a budget this week, I kept my impulses in check. I only bought a few rail cars, some diecast, and the track was the most expensive purchase I made. Overall a good day, didn't find anything really rare , Tyco or otherwise, but it was fun just looking around. Bought a few grab bags of N scale parts for cheap. A Marx HO City Services blue tanker. A Johnny Lightning 1 of 800 Toy Fair AMC Rebel Machine diecast, my one real low-cost splurge, as AMC diecast are hard to find, and a Toy Fair version even more so. I kept my spending under 3 figures, so I guess I did alright. :) I did restrain myself from buying any new engines, as that would have depleted my money quickly. I saw some I wanted, but held off. I DID buy a Bachmann Smokey Mountain tender, I think I have the engine, but it was missing the tender, for $3 I got that remedied.
