BOX 17 - track Most of this was salvaged off my old "big" layout. Mostly sectional - before I figured out the wonders of flex-track. I don't think I'll use much sectional on the next layout, except for sidings and odds/ends.

I'm sure you'll find some use of all that track you have there. It's still very useful for your layout.

Oh I'm sure I will too Stephen, 'somewhere'. I am still tossing around ideas for my next layout, which will not even be started until the Big Move is completed. But one thing I will hold out until the very end for are big enough radius curves that I can run all my big stuff - the Centennial, the Superliner cars...anything of that nature. 24" R at the bare minimum. If I'm able to incorporate two loops I can use the sectional on the inner loop.

Getting down to the nitty gritty now. I think I'm going to take a break from boxing and focus on some projects I want to finish before I pack everything up. Still have a good number of rolling stock and locomotives to go, but wanted to leave some out for now so I have something to run! I'd say there will be 40 boxes or so when all is said and done...

Jerry, what's the deal with that E8? Looks like a Rivarossi shell & sideframes on an Athearn drive.

You are correct, Nelson - there is an FP-45 Athearn drive under the Rivarossi shell, and a NWSL can motor powering it. The old Rivarossi E8 sideframes almost match up to the wheels if you don't look too close! I wanted something that would pull anything I chose to put behind it, and this thing does

The packing is getting harder now, partly because I am tired of packing...partly because it's kind of depressing, and mostly because the remaining pieces are loose without boxes and all require individual attention. But...the project marches on.....

BOXES 31, 32 & 33 - "STUFF"
Scenic supplies, turf, foliage, ballast, acrylics, sprayers, glue, roadbed, etc. Already boxed so I just taped em up. We guessed 30-40 boxes total before I started this but now I'm thinking it's going to be at least 50

Unloaded about about half the boxes from the truck into the storage container in Texas today - so I guess it's serious now The rest of it will come down when we move everything. Was a little hesitant to store anything in the Texas heat, but from what I have observed I think it will be OK. It's a 40' Evergreen shipping container.

Back to packing up stuff for the move, this time not leaving much of anything out. The layout will remain operational since there's nowhere to put it, I'll leave a train on it until moving day. I have one last car on my workbench that I am finishing up, and then all the tools, paint, supplies and the rest will be going in a box. Kind of sad, cause I really have no idea when I'll be back up and running again.

Randy, strangely enough I have just 'discovered' the B&O in the past 2-3 years. Strangely because the B&O is probably THE WV railroad over all the others. Fascinating railroad and history and I'm sure I'll be adding to what's here as I am able!
