The reason why I'm a little later than usual posting my OTWs this week is because I went camping this weekend and I just got back from it.Anyway, while I was there, we went to this railroad park in Cle Elum, Washington. It's an old Milwaukee Road train station right next to the old powerhouse for the railroad to power the electric trains as you'll see in the pictures in a moment. You can actually walk down where the railroad used to be although I have no clue how far it goes.If you're ever in that area, you just gotta check it out. These photos I have here just don't do it justice.

There's more at this railroad park than what I showed you in these photos in case you're wondering. Feel free to comment.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

It still has all the signals and the grade is still ready for track so I'm not surprised.

The signals would most likely need to be replaced (just the MILW being lazy leaving them there in the first place) and a preserved grade rarely means there's any chance of new track, buuuuuut... sounds pretty cool anyways!

I do like the picture of the old powerhouse, that's one kind of thing you very rarely see in HO scale

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that one. The powerhouse looks pretty dang cool. They even have the foundations of the old roundhouse and turntable there too.

Very nice photos Stephen. It seems it has good potential to be converted to a working tourist railroad site.

It does, actually. It has almost everything it might need building wise to make it a tourist railroad and all the space it needs too.

I rediscovered this interesting thread. Although not a tourist railroad it has a very scenic trail.
Station is now a restaurant.

Some internet photos of this nice station and area.

Has a tasty restaurant and history. And an interesting long bike trail to explore.

More internet photos of the station and former rail line.

Decades ago when the tracks were there with different colors on the station.
