I saw some images online that were interesting- a GN trailer that did not "look" like the generic "empire builder" color scheme trailers, and a GN flat car (with those EB trailers) in "vermillion red", whatever that color is supposed to be.

I then did some repaint work on the trailers and the flat car (another swap meet special I purchased recently at a June show), outfitting the flat car with Kadee 5's and IM wheels.

I made the trailer decal myself by first printing the black lettering with a space allowance for the GN goat decal, which I then applied over my decal. The white decal lettering is Microscale from a box car set sheet.

Nice looking job! are those Tyco or Athearn trailers, or something else?

Trailers were originally from a B&O-decaled Athearn TOFC BB kit. I just cleaned everything down to bare plastic and began all over again with my version of how things should be.

The on-line images of an empire builder-schemed set of trailers with a red flat car didn't make much sense to me- perhaps a GN Orange TOFC flat car might have been a better combo.

When I saw the white GN trailer, it seemed a better fit color-wise.
