Several months ago I stated that I would be casting new High Adhesion trucks for the Tyco C-430 with the correct axle spacing for the Tyco/Mantua MU-2 drive. That project became a reality today! I am also currently working on a corrected fuel tank that began as a C-630 tank that has been sectioned and shortened for the C-430. I will be using this as a master to make an injection mold so that i can cast these pieces in brass as well. All of these components will be nickel plated when complete.

Outstanding. Very nicely done.

These are factory Tyco brass wheels that I nickel plated for cleaner running. The process took about ten minutes not counting disassembly time. Here you see the pour of the molten brass using the Vacuform machine.

Very impressive work! So you shaped the sideframe out of styrene and added detail parts like the journals and brake cylinder for the master?

That is correct. The journals are from an old set of Atlas flexicoils and the main springs are fashioned from plastic screws. I went slightly larger than prototype for the springs and perches to help disguise the extra long axle spacing of the MU-2 trucks. I will be making a new master that will be specific to the Tyco P/T drive as the spacing is even longer. Other plans in the works are the high adhesion type C truck for the C-630 with the P/T drive.

Those trucks are awesome. Sorry it took so long for me to respond! Tyco and Mantua 430s would be proud to wear a set of these.
