Thanks for showing us your pictures. You always seem to have something interesting to show us.

North Conway New Hampshire railroad station built in 1874.
HO scale layout in nearby freight building. Lovely village of North Conway, New Hampshire. I tried to get best results of transfer of print photos to computer. I hope you enjoy them. I hope to revisit this area in the near future.

We visited there last summer to take the grand-kids to see Thomas the Tank Engine. The model RR was open and in operation. Quite an impressive layout. I have more pictures of the layout and will hunt them up and post.

I worked on the Conway Scenic Railroad seasonally while I was in college. I worked there full time in the summer of 2013 and worked weekends during the fall of the same year. I also worked weekends during the summer of 2014 and again in the fall of that same year. I was 22/23 at the time and it was an amazing experience. I got some great and unique photos during my time of employment that I would like to share here with you all for your enjoyment. Each photo has a story of working on the railroad. Forum member wks recommended I share my photos here. If anyone has any questions about the railroad and its operations or equipment, feel free to ask! I'd be happy to answer as I am still very much in the loop at the railroad.
Check out my railroad drawings I have for sale! www.northeasternrailfan.webs.com

This was my usual view during the 2013 summer season. This was taken inside our hyrail truck I believe number 202. We were coming up on Frankenstein Trestle. My job as a trackman was to tighten or replace loose rail joint bolts. We would put the hyrail on the tracks at the grade crossing in Bartlett. Once we were on the rail we would radio to North Conway Depot, "North Conway Depot this is Hyrail 202 we are on the iron heading westbound out of Bartlett.". Westbound means heading towards Bartlett and Crawford Notch from North Conway Depot. Eastbound would be heading back or to Conway from North Conway Depot. Once we were on the iron we would survey the tracks looking for orange tags on joint bolts meaning the joint had to be tightened or replaced. The wrench we used was about 4 feet long and believe me, you needed the leverage! We would also look for low branches and would clear brush for views if we had time. Another thing we looked out for was tie replacements. Once a tie was replaced, the ballast had to be filled back in by hand. I remember spending an 8 hour day just filling ballast in with 2 other crew members my age. I guess that's why we were sent up the mountain so much on track crew; we were all in our early 20s! I'm 26 now and a real estate agent with intentions of getting back to railroading through real estate in the near future.
Here's a photo I took before we got back into the hyrail probably after tightening a rail joint.
Beautiful view of Frankenstein from the back of the hyrail truck bed as we passed over it. More photos to come! I'll try to post a few times a week as time permits. Again if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

The Hartmann Model Train Store and Museum Ben. Closed in 2018 due to lower sales and higher expenses. Plus the couple who owned it were getting older. At least there are videos and photos on the internet. I was there four times but never took photos. These videos are from others who visited the site.
Miniature railroad ride around the grounds back then. I guess that is gone as well. On well.
