Anyone interested in this?

I saw it at an antique mall today for $20, which sounds surprisingly reasonable for an antique dealer. The cars look to be in good shape with very little paint wear, with all brake wheels and corner steps. You can see from the pic that the boxes are decent but not perfect, and at least one has loose cellophane.

If anyone is interested, I will gladly purchase it and send it to you for cost plus shipping, whatever that might be.

I have the same set and tried to trade or sell it on the post. The response was underwhelming. Unless you have a committed buyer lined up, these Carter era duds have very limited sex appeal ==========they are proverbial lead balloons. Don't walk away, RUN.

I appreciate the cautionary tale!

However, risk-taker that I am, I have nothing invested in these other than the time it took to get the picture, time that would have been wasted anyway, since I was waiting for my wife to finish doing something!

But you never know what might interest somebody, so I'll gladly take a couple of minutes to get a picture on the chance that somebody's been searching high and low for just this thing.

Even though they hold no interest for me I appreciate the time you took alerting us to the opportunity. But, as you said, you never know what might interest somebody.

I know I'm looking for Athearn handrails and/or stanchions which are increasingly harder to find. And if someone has some or knows who does have them I know I would appreciate a heads up.

Do you still have it? I have a bicentennial c liner with caboose that need cars to pull. What are you looking to get for them?

I do hope you find an interested taker, all Tyco is pretty darn cool, I just mean to say I had no luck trying to move my pieces. Best of luck, not meant to be cautionary.

For the moment the antique dealer has these on sale for $12, but I don't know for how long.
