Miracles never cease. Yes, CATTLE cars. And I don't mean cattle AUTOMOBILES. I actually dislike automobiles. Death traps that eliminated affordable passenger trains and street cars, er, that is TRACTION, not automobiles.

Thank you to JNTX who traded me a truly awesome Mantua stock, er, cattle car to a BN box car! This stock, er, cattle car is headed for the COTW eventually, once I install circus elephant, sawdust, etc.

I am tempted to paint the elephant pink, as in "pink elephant," but visually that might distract from a beautiful vintage model.

Thanks also to sister May in Palmetto, FL, who sent me a vintage Mantua stock, er, cattle car- I have yet to open it up, but am told it is nicely "toasted" with age. Gotta love that dust: poor man's weathering technique.

Enjoying the teasing. LOL.

Crikeys! That is the very boxcar JNXT sent me, and the black one is identical to the one my sister also sent me. Even the elephant is about a spot on match. Either twisted minds think alike, or the world is more saturated with Tyco than I ever knew.

It never occurred to me, however, to have a triceratops peering out of the car- nifty touch. Also, the classic, old school Tyco scenery you have achieved is a delight to observe.

Thanks...the scenery was exactly what I set out to do...a form of rebellion to the years of meticulous scenery I've done in the past. The MKT car is a Life Like, the UP car is an old Revell...

I have a fairly meticulous layout, in DCC I am planning, after I finish out this Tycomania Train Set. It is somewhat liberating to have some simple enjoyment. The next layout is going to be a pleasure, but not an easy one. I am going to have enlist some guys from the Club who are pretty darn meticulous. Tyco allows me to be loose, and that is fun. Again, I salute your old school classic look. It is a pleasure to look at.

P.S.: I picked up two more identical Mantua Rio Grande black stock, er, cattle cars for $3 a pop at Tin Plate Henry's today. Gotta stop it there, this train is getting very long. My New Haven train, for which I finally found a matching caboose, burned the motor on a nice vintage Athearn F unit. Will publish the back story in the Railroader Press of Loose Ends.

My sister May, and I, both love the triceraptops, if I go that route, just remember that Mark Twain said the sincerest form of flattery is plagerism.
