For various reasons, it is time to do some downsizing of my collection. I'm going to start with a group of Athearn Blue Box kits - that have already been assembled - that I found at an estate sale a couple of years ago. My guess is that the man put the kits together and then put them back into the box with the instruction sheet. All - but one - of these are for the Santa Fe.
There are four Passenger cars (Pullamn (for the Southern Pacific), Diner, Observation, and Baggage) - all grey. Produced circa 1975 - based on the revision date on the instructions. The kits came with Horn'n'hook couplers, but now have something different, maybe Hornby.
Next are five train cars, all Santa Fe - assembled - a Bay window Caboose, a 40' box car, a Work Caboose, a 50' flat with stakes and a 40' Reefer. These all have the Horn and Hook couplers. There is no date on the instructions, but I would guess that they are also form the mid 70s.
The last group is three Diesel engines, NOW SOLD a PA-1 Powered, a PA2 Dummy and another PA-1 (the box has PB-1) Powered. The Dummy has never been out of the box, it is still attached with plastic ties. It still has Horn & Hook couplers. The two powered diesels have had their couplers replaced with the more modern style. The instructions for both are for a PA-1 and both are numbered "75".
Finally, I have five buildings made by Bachmann = all are lighted and are made to snap together. I had intended to build them with my grandson but some medical problems interfered. These sets include a Barn & Silo with farm animals; a two story house, a country church = [ the Church is still wrapped in plastic - the other two appear to be complete]; then there are two train stations (both wrapped in plastic) - one is a Freight Station and the other is a Passenger station.
After this is posted, I'll be uploading the pictures to this site. in the meantime, these are also on Photobucket at http://s67.photobucket.com/user/bill_matthews3/slideshow/Trading%20Post%20-%20Items%20for%20Sale" target="_blank"> br / http://s67.photobucket.com/user/bill_matthews3/slideshow/Trading%20Post%20-%20Items%20for%20Sale
