For some reason, I like them too. Although I've never seen them in person.

Aren't those the cars that are held together by rubber bands and explode on impact? Seems like I recall these things like a million year ago?

Yes, Jeff. They were called "Crashmobile ". The top pushed down and locked the body on the car. When the front bumper hit something it sprung rearward and allowed the body pieces to fly off !

reason they ain't cheap is: 1. Parts get lost 2. Baby Boomers are wanting their toys back C. Young collectors are discovering the old Baby Boomer old toys Who made it btw?

| Don't know who made them Ben... Maybe you could look that up. I had several as a young kid & I will pay the price for one in the future. They don't seem to be many on eBay...

I'd never heard nor seen these before. I had a pair of 57 Chevy nomads that you used a pull tab, and the parts would fly off them when they hit. But nothing like this.

There was a Crashmobile in the Gumby episode "Gumby Business." It first appears at 1:09...
And for the model railroad fans, there's some interesting Marx train action near the end!
