This Tyco bit dates to the 1970's and has a nice shell, horns intact, horn hook couplers. It ran for a few minutes, after decades of storage, and then froze up solid. I assume the pancake motor is fried, so it needs a re-motoring. Just to be perfectly clear: it DOESN'T WORK. I am selling it for the first $30 that crosses the threshold, post paid. Thank you for not laughing. Somebody is going to fix this baby and love her as much as I do. All proceeds go 100% to the non-profit El Paso Model Train Club to preserve the roof and conduct maintainance large and miniature. Your purchase is tax deductible.

Hi JM,
The forum rivet counter, here. What you got there is an ALCO C430.
Nice loco. Don't think I've seen one in the NH scheme.

Yep, this is from the Red Box era, prior to 1970. It also has an MU-2 power truck, not a pancake motor. Probably just needs a cleaning, since these run forever.

Actually, over the holidays I fixed a Penn Central engine with an MU-2 motor for a guy, one of the commutator pads had burnt off the armature, so the carbon brush fell into the hole and the motor would lock in place. They do NOT run forever, not all of them, anyway. I replaced his motor with another power truck, as there was no fixing his motor with that bad pad. First time I'd really worked on an MU-2 as far as replacing one. Most just need some lube and oil, as NickelPlate alludes to. :)
