Here it is! Does anyone else in this forum have one of these? If so, post pictures of it! I got this thing at a train show for $25 as is and it works pretty good.

I don't even know where that place where you put the track cleaning fluid in.. I didn't really get it for the track cleaning feature, I got it cause it looks cool and it caught my eye when I saw it.

Good job on finding those although I don't they're that rare if at all.

Don't put any cleaning fluid in it. It just leaks everywhere and makes a mess.

I wasn't planning on doing so anyway. I just find them cool looking for some strange reason.

They are nice to look at, but they are track cleaners in name only. They provided no flow control for the fluid. The cleaning pad is also ridiculously small, and loads up with dirt almost immediately.

I have noticed that on my engine. The cleaning pad is incredibly dirty.

It is interesting that in the pictures of the UP model the road number is EC-1 but in the pictures that I posted of the prototype the road number is EC-3. I wonder just how many of these units UP had? I have a photo of a more recent UP Plasser that appears to be much longer and has a really wild multi color paint scheme. It is true that these aren't very good track cleaners but they are indeed very cool looking and they don't run half bad. I wonder if anyone has put DCC and sound in one yet?

They're a joke as track cleaners, but they look pretty good and the Bachmann pancake drive is much more reliable than the Tyco PT. Just be prepared, as they are champion white noise generators.

All in all, they are pretty nice looking engines and run pretty good but the track cleaning feature sucks and that was it's selling point. Bachmann. It's definitely a nice engine besides that.

I've got the UP one in HO and N scale. Never run the N scale one, but the HO one I seem to remember running really, really slow even at full throttle on the powerpack. Are they supposed to be geared really slow? Oh, and I believe SEPTA still has one of these things hidden away in their Wayne Junction yard.

When I have seen the prototypes in operation they move pretty slow when they are testing. They will often stop and back up and go back and forth for a bit if they spot an anomaly. When they need to get out of the way they can get up and go pretty quickly.

I don't think so. Mine goes at a decent speed at 60% power and I'm using Bachmann E-Z track.

Well, I was planning on posting mine, soon as I found them again. Last night, I found them all, in 3 different places (no, four ), and finally got them all together for a family photo. Most are complete, a couple are missing one cow-catcher. I took the N gauge version to my hobby shop job and tested it tonight, and it actually ran rather well, albeit with a bit of pancake squeal . Anyway, here's what I currently own, don't think I'll get any more. Maybe I"ll paint one BN green. :)
