My BOTW is the old "Arlee Station". I picked this one up at an antique store for $5, repainted and renamed it. The odd couple on the bench are talking about the good old days...

"Business" building renovate . . . I'd gotten these business buildings with an engine house (engine house previously posted). Recently got after them a bit; mostly the two-story one. So . . . now it's a building for lease on a Spartan layout. I'm thinking a grocer or mercantile and a café should share the downstairs and the owners live upstairs. The smaller building needs a getting after yet, though I did start smearing some paint on it just to get some ideas.
As purchased . . .

A little Tuscan paint seemed to camouflage glue damage . . .

Need some people in this ghost town . . . and maybe some hitchin' posts.

Hey Barry,
Maybe the smaller building could be a blacksmith shop?
just me Ray... and just because I have Tyco doesn't mean I am not a model railroader

We got several inches of snow today . . . so it was either get out and play in the snow . . . or mess with the model trains . . . tough choice. So . . . I got after that little potential blacksmith shop . . .

It would be an understatement to say you have transformed those buildings. They all have a realistic, worn patina to them that's hard to capture.

| That's a pretty cool station Mike. Seems like maybe there should be a couple of firefighters sitting' out front in lawn chairs, hey? Did you ever get into the firefighting train stuff; like that Roundhouse set?

Barry:
A great sign (above the structure) for that horse and buggy scene would be : "Classic Restoration Services" to tie it in to the modern era (as located near an Amish community, which might need such). I saw a D-I-Y cable episode this past December with Vanilla Ice, who now does construction rehab, where he had such a real company build a custom buggy for his Amish clients in Ohio or Indiana.

Well Barry to tell ya the truth No. Never liked the way they looked,to clunky, and to be honest I really never saw a prototypical unit,do they even exist or did someone dream up a firefighting train set.
Anyway thanks for lookin at the shot, and the guy's should be in the scene by next week.
Mike

Mike, I'm not sure about fire fighting trains, but the tank car with a nozzle has a prototype in that the rail grinder trans would have this type of car.

Very nice. Iconic. It resembles so many small scale supermarkets of the 1970's.

What happened to BOTW? Come on guys, feel free to show off your new buildings. I can't because I can't post pictures (yet?).
