Hello everyone! New member to the group, i'm rgcw5's lil brother. I model Southern Pacific '95-96, and a freelanced modern Pacific Electric, diesel freight operations. I have been in the model railroad hobby for over 15 years. I am an avid "kit builder" and "kitbasher". Would be glad to show of my creations and see what you guys have. Thanks!

Hey microbusss, Yeah he finally made me sign up. As with the PE, I believe that LA transportation recieved a huge blow when the ole trolley lines were discontunued and ripped out. My occupation is transportation in the LA area, and have always thought, if the PE was to be sold and operated till today (upgrated of course), there would be far less traffic and more tax money spent or given away (depending how you look at it) on other projects. That's were my idea for a Modern PE came into play. My idea was based on the freight operations though.

Welcome to Tycoland, where others are welcome as well. Don't be afraid to post your kitbashes, we always like to see new and different stuff, especially custom jobs. Only SP I'm interested in is the Krauss-Maffei hydraulic diesels ( I like unusual stuff ), and I have a couple of the AHM models, as well as the Rio Grande versions. Glad you finally signed up!

* Well, good morning Mister Cadillac, and WELCOME to the Tyco Forum. Do you keep all your modeling to traction of a modern era, or have you some old timers, tucked away in a old trolley barn, to run on special occasions. holidays, anniversaries', or parties, and for any other reason just to have a nice day. Are their some open summer cars, to allow the little people, you passengers, the feel of a cooling breeze in their face on a hot summer day. Do you run those wonderful Sunday trips out to a lake, amusement park, or natural setting for a family trip, and a meal in the open air, a picnic! Or just to walk the trails to high open places to enjoy the vistas provided by mother nature. * Well I will watch your posts, and do hope for a little more than the give me, give me, I wants one, of the Buss. Or the 4 to 8 word posts of members just making their quota of posts. * I am working on a loco now. It is mostly in my head and a dream of cap stacked Mother Hubbard's pulling their trains, Reading, the Central, Lackawanna, and Valley all out from the cities, New York, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey City, Hoboken, Newark, Elizabeth, and the like out from places like that to those country resorts to the west in the Lehigh Valley, Mauch Chunk, Glen Onoko, Lehigh Gap. Or north, up the Hudson to the Catskills. Or the north west and the Delaware Water Gap, and the Poconos. Every railroad have its on line resorts. * Well from this I guess you can tell what I would like to model. * Well Cadillacman good luck in your modeling. FRANK

When the SD9's came out, they were described as Cadillacs compared to the other offerings of the time... they "floated on air" and had plenty of power to spare!
Welcome to the forum.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
