I'm thinking of selling on E-bay, and offering this Fleischmann stuff. I'm hoping it's worth $35 or better. Does anyone know what the little tracks with the little pickups are? Signal gate trippers? The little metal lite is really cute.

There are people in this forum with good reputation who can guide your questions and even offer fair prices. Friendships are started here... you may ask if someone here would offer to buy what you have.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

My son came in just as I was posting, had trouble with the pic. He showed me how to move it to Paint and back to reduce it. I have other pics, but still busy with him.

That is a switch contact rail, for automatic switching of points, signals, etc. It is activated by the loco. You probably have $35 worth of stuff there. That being said, eBay is probably not where you will get it if you list it at that price, and you will end up owing for the listing anyway. I sold a train there one time, listed it at $75, a very good deal, but nobody bit. The next week I took a chance and started it at 99 cents. By the time the bidding was over, I sold that thing for $190.
What chances are you willing to take?

Thanks, Shaygetz for the answer. I wondered how to avoid crashes at switches. They don't seem to have easily seen visual aids. I have someone from Australia interested in the stuff. Shipping is $23.55, not too bad.
