haven't been to the Great Train Expo in Anaheim for 3 years but got the chance to go this time and was worth it!! Blew all $180 I had only $170 on the stuff I bought and $10 for food after the show
Spectrum Rock Island Decapod (2-10-0) with box, great shape for $70. Sporting my spare vandy tender for now. Runs beautiful!
The guy I bought it from was a huge rock island buff and of course Spectrum never made Rock Island 2-10-0's so this was his custom work. He also installed a nice digitrax decoder but being not factory installed it would not run on my DC track when the wires are hooked up. So I had to use my spectrum vandy tender to let her run around. My plan is to get a new 2-10-0 tender from Bachmann, put my rock island shell onto the new frame, then put together the other tender then sell it. A DCC tender can sell for good money.
NIB Proto 1000 California Northern GP15 $40. Mainly I bought this because my older brother really wanted it and had already spent his money on a fancy coach. So I was nice and bought it because he wouldn't be happy without it Damn good engine though, smooth as silk, really quiet, love it!!
$20 Rio Grande powered GP38-2. Custom headlight, beacon only for show, fully cleaned the wheels, runs fantastic!
My brother actually bought this one. Kato Corrugated Business 9observation) car. NIB for $40. Found it by luck. I've wanted this Kato car for years! And he wants to build up a warbonnet consist for his Santa Fe F7's so it's off to a good start!
$35 Roundhouse Santa Fe 0-6-0. Nice paint, just needs a full wheel cleaning and servicing. Had original box too. Will likely get her running today.

That 2-10-0 is SWEET! I also really like the observation car. The other engines look great as well. Nice finds!

I ran into someone, yesterday, who was on hand for some testing and adjusting in the Illinois Railway Museum's project to return its Frisco Russian Decapod to service. It looks like it'll be back running this year, sometime.
Those of us in striking distance of IRM should get to see the full-size decapod in action again after a long hiatus for repairs.

Very nice stuff you got at your train show. Was it a big place? Lots of people? Sometimes I get photos of the people walking around looking at the tables. Or just picts of the tables loaded with trains.

Huge place, lots of layouts, tables, and people. I do have some photos of the stuff for sale, but then again everyone would go nuts if I posted those
