While at the World's Greatest Hobby show, I spied an interesting kitbashed shell. A shortened Budd RDC. For $2, I took it home and began to finish the kitbash which someone else had started. A few hours, some paint, and a bachmann F9 chassis later, it transformed from this:
 To this:
A fantasy MOW vehicle, a kind of cross between a "doodlebug" car and a Budd RDC. And so the "Budd Bugg" was born. Not the prettiest beast, but it has plenty of character. To this day the BN Maintenance crew thinks the Budd company was lying about how "stainless" this car was, for obvious reasons. They did build it from factory scrap parts, so what did they expect? This car carries workers and tools, and carries the fictitious number 20000. It makes an awful racket puttering around town, and the little HO townsfolk are threatening to demand compensation for lowered property value. But for right now it works OK for the maintenance crew and it's OK for me too.

Neat contraption! What's the chassis powering it?

That's a smashin' bash, no hash! For low cash! yash! Nice finishing job, I have a couple ideas for similar base units, I want to join two Observation cars to make an oval RDC. Maybe one day I'll get on that project, but I have others to finish first. Always fun to see what others have done.

I don't think I can even try to top that alliteration... That idea for the observation cars sounds really cool. Reminds me of the Aristo-craft Eggliners It seems like the Budd RDCs are just destined for kitbashing, even the prototype roads added streamlined fronts, cabs, and even jet engines!
