I guess I missed the outing. Was on it last night 'til late.

I'm gonna post this in the other thread but thought you'd like a chuckle in this one:

Chat y'all later!

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

Lots of good quotes in this thread, but yours made me laugh pretty hard.

Fellow Americans, toys are unnecessary, hobbies are unnecessary. There are people in America who are less fortunate or just don't want to make do themselves, I mean unable to succeed due to circumstances they control, err I mean out of their control.... blah blah blah.

He wouldn't ban it, he'd just tax it more.

He'd completely redefine model railroading in a 2000 page law, fleshed out with 40,000 pages of unlegislated regulations and require everyone to have an approved train set containing an 1860's 4-4-0, a twin stack container set and a trolley car for a caboose. It would all cost twice as much and therefore be called the affordable train set act. After four years of trying to set it up, the train set would run backwards and fly off the tracks. The 4-4-0 would have an electric "pentagram" on the roof in violation of many religions and the government would deal with this by redefining religion.

Then he'd force you to register with his government model railroading website, which wouldn't allow you to login and would crash continually... OOPS!

Wait a minute, he clearly promised that if we liked our layout we could KEEP it.

Actually, obama would heavily tax the land on your layouts and then he would have the EPA shut them down since the maintenace yards don't meet the EPA guidlines.

A few really nice layouts would be declared a UN World Heritage site and would be confiscated.....

PRR 4800...you haven't alluded to your age. I will assume you are under the age of 20.

Most of us have lived under several presidents...I'd venture as far back as Eisenhower, possibly Truman. We have some miles under our belts.

I will speak for myself here, and tell you that I have lived through enough to become more engaged and informed in my country, and where my country is headed.

If, in fact, you are under the age of 20...give yourself 10-20 years, and you will certainly come to understand what you claim to not understand right now. I will not judge anyone, nor cast aspersions here, or even choose "sides," but take my statement for what it is worth. You *need* to understand. Soon.

Until then, enjoy the light-hearted barbs...and this hobby we all share common ground in.
