Sadly, nope I can't help on this one.....I would venture a guess as to the age of this beauty is so far out there, parts would be almost nil to find, BUT, that's not to say, I won't keep my eyes open, and maybe, something in my roam of places/people, something will turn up.
That's ones, that's going to be difficult to get parts for!

| Ken, do you have a picture of the valve gear? I don't have one, but you never know what you will see.

Ken, the eccentric crank, eccentric rod, and expansion link at least look like they may be common to modern Mantua parts. Any possibility of that?

I agree it does look awfully close to the new day Mantua stuff! Whats the worst? you build a crosshead slide, to fit the part from the new Mantua 4-6-2, as they are "light weight" versions, and then you could make it have a "heavy weight" crosshead.... with dual slides, and all just with the change of a rivet, and the main rod, guide.....
I think it actually be pretty easy to do that way too!

Ken knows that the valve gear off an early standard Mantua 4-6-2 would work, but he wants to keep it all original. I really admire him for not cutting corners on this project.

Yes. that one.
I managed to buy a super nice done one for around $100 about two years ago November - and by nice it's painted and lettered in a way that looks factory - so I don't really need another too.

hi lvrr325,the only thing that could have moved was the motor, check photos, the gearbox?is not attached to chassis, and all drive is all over the place, and for the money plus $40 postage to uk,was most certainly a big risk ken

| That looks like a pretty interesting project Ken. It's amazing how well some of that tiny stuff survives abuse, though.

| "gearbox not attached to chassis" not sure where you get that idea from. Engine is sitting on it's side in those photos.

hi lvrr325,i laid my pacific on its side, and the gap between chassis and gearbox/motor mount, has even gap between, unlike this photo which to be looks bigger at one end than other, and motor seems to be going upward, might just be my eyes, had i lived stateside,i would have still bid on it,but like i said the cost plus postage, makes it a big risk, again thanks for giving heads up on it,ken only need one part to finish loco no 4573 front tender step
