In a shocking revelation, a massacre of civilian cows was discovered at a farmer's market at daybreak, as the Cow Palace was about to open up. Cows on an old Dodge trailer hauler were found tits-up while waiting for the local market to open. News spread wildly through the surrounding barnyards. Fowl play has not been ruled out, but the chickens are squawking that they had NOTHING to do with it, regardless of any cow collusion with the " Eat mor chiken" campaign many Holsteins had modeled for. Even so, authorities are taking quack action, not ducking any hard questions to any bird or beast who may have knowledge of any motivation for such an insidious demise. Hopefully this won't land a haymaker on future animal transports. Suspicious odors from the hay inside the trailer may indicate high fermentation, which could have caused natural high methane emissions from the cows themselves, overcoming them in close quarters they were in. Reporters tried to corral Mr Ed, the famous actor horse who just happened to be visiting that day, but he wasn't talking. This could be an accident, or a deliberate attempt to cause a drop in hamburger prices before the NFL season started that day. The investigating pigs are rooting around for any clues, so far without any muck to find. In a strange twist , the tractor was missing it's wheels, possibly a diversionary tactic to make it look like a simple theft. The farmer is distraught, saying his goose is cooked with this loss ( no word yet from Mother Goose on whether this affects her or not ). Any further breaking news will come through the Grade A Egg bureau. Young children should not view this photo taken soon after the discovery, as it might cause trauma. View at your own risk.

If the frogs start croaking in the corn and wheat fields, the pigs just might have a cereal killer on their hands!
