I've been doing some research on Los Angeles' railway history and came across some abandoned memories of when the W line used to run past my neighborhood right before scrapping. Here's a taste:

http://goo.gl/maps/lJRz7 - The only visible piece of Pacific Electric (part of the UP Easement before crossing the Arroyo Seco Parkway) still existing in my neighborhood (about 6 blocks from where I live, easy biking distance)

My my my, how much things have changed...

I know exactly where you are located. Nice quiet area. I am in Mount Washington up Future Street so i'm pretty close to where you are at.

Beautiful vintage shots. Everything's pristine, and not a hint of graffiti on any of the cars.

Nelson,
Commuter trains be Metrolink or MYTA here in LA are well cared for and free of Graffiti to this day. I went ot NY and was amazed at how badly covered the cars were in graffiti.
