Well I'll start off my newest addition (I have not had much for LOTW or COTW in awhile), so......

Not to shabby, found while out with the family yard sale hunting.... Paid a whoopin' $4.00! Was never opened, till I got it home!

EM-1, Nice price for a not-to-common kit. That's a good find.
Here is my COTW, a Tri-ang (Model Power) container car. It reminds me a lot of the mail container flat cars that the Santa Fe ran in the 1960's in their streamliners. That's where I'm putting this car... at the head end of my San Francisco Chief.

Thomas, That's what I thought when I found that car! I wasn't gonna complain! AND I didn't even try to talk the guy down in price!
As for your car, who made that? I myself, is looking for a few of those as those are I believe "Trash" containers that I used to see going down CSX trackage in Pennsylvania! Which, I'd like to re-create a bit.....I remember seeing them just before, AND after 9-11!!!!!!

I thought Walthers due to the trucks, their original older release had the redish/rust colored trucks, and the wheels sets having brass axles, is a dead giveaway to a Walthers, truck!
Plus, the detail is much better then an IHC car, even tho it close looking, I would say its Walthers...Any chance to see what the coupler draft gear box looks like from the underside of the car?
EDIT: Only thing I did not mention, it is a nice car, either way! I love all the old MOW cars, I would love to find the A and B set to the Walthers MOW train they did some years ago, to use it for my Western Maryland train, that I'm planning to build!

I've got an IHC Rail Hauler car that matches this blacksmith car. Yes, same axles and body detail... but an IHC kit. I, too, wish I had the set of these cars. I've also got a Central Vermont "Way Car" in grey... also a very nice IHC kit. Clean and crisp parts and markings.
IHC, more than IMHO.
John
p.s. I s'pose I aughta post pictures, eh?
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

John, YES! Please post pictures!!!! See, the "rust" truck looks was a Walthers offering for awhile....(I never thought of it in the same way they did but....)
Did IHC offer the rusty colored truck side frames too? I haven't seen that!
On the pictured car, the draft gear box, will tell if it is a Walthers car, or an IHC car....Reason? The draft gear box cover, was a simple "plate" with a pin that pressed into the center of the coupler pivot pin inside the draft gear box, and when pressed in, and the coupler broke, and had to be replaced, that pin that held the draft gear box cover in place, would break off, and have to have the center of the box cover drilled and the center of the pivot inside the draft gear box, to except a screw of some sort to hold the whole works together.....Originally was a poor design by Walthers, but that's how to tell if that's a Walthers kit or not, OR having "Walthers" imprinted on the car, in a place not easily seen, under the roof of the BlackSmith cabin?
