Does anyone have any HO slotcars they'd be willing to sell me? I'm getting started on my slotcar layout and need a few new racers.

Depends - are you willing to pay market rates, or just looking for cheapies? Old vintage or the magnatraction type which stick like glue? What types are you looking for exactly?

If the car is in nice shape I'd pay market. Typical market price seems to be about $10-$20 a piece (based on ebay anyway), yes?
I'm looking for anything really. My selection of cars is not too big at the moment so anything new to play around with is fine with me. Vintage would be nice, but I'm not picky

If you have a hobby lobby near you print off the 40% off in store coupon and by the AutoWorld cars. The they are then 12-17 dollars then with tax.

Man, I don't think there's even a hobby shop in town that sells slotcars I'd be all over cars for $12.

Can you use the 40% coupon on model cars or trains too? I just found a Hobby Lobby near where my parents live.

Now there's a beast that you know would handle the loops and wall climbs like a champ
On a side note, I picked up this nice Tyco Chaparral 2D on ebay tonight. I'm going to replace the missing wing with some sort of rocket booster...that should give it a sweet, retro atomic feel It'll go great with my layout

It can be used on model cars and trains that are not on clearance or sale priced. Keep in mind one coupon per customer and only applies to one item. Wish they would get some cheap Bachman DCC to use the coupon on.

A word of warning about Auto World cars. They are good cars overall, but often they need some tweaking to get them to run right or to keep from overheating. They are not beginner level cars that are trouble free from the get go and remain so. They are best suited for those who know how to make adjustments to HO slot cars.
The quality control also leaves a little to be desired. You can get one car that is great and trouble free, and the next car doesn't run well until you tweak it. It's gotten better but is still not perfect.
THe Super IIIs are fast cars.
The X-traction are are remakes of many old Thunderjet 500 cars with a better chasis that has a traction magnet. I find these cars fun for a home layout. THey are not too fast and the single traction magnet provides just enough grip to make them challanging while still being drivable.
I wouldn't recommend the Thunderjets. THese too are remakes of Thunderjet 500 cars but WITHOUT the traction magnet. THese cars have no rear end grip at all and are very hard to keep on the track except at very slow speed.

You lucky bastard! I paid about $5 for the CurveHugger set I found last year as well, but the box wasn't in that good of shape, nor did the set have that much track. If I had a set like yours, I'd be framing the box and mounting it on my wall!
Tires for the CurveHuggers are fairly easy to find on the internet.
