Hardly depressing, I found this nice all-metal Marx HO depressed Center flat at the Spring Carlisle auto flea on Friday. $7.50 was the price. Not sure what goes in the center yet. Will have to research that.

One of my several operating Mantua hoppers. Horribly over-weathered, been cleaning at it. But, up on trucks, and gen-you-wine Mantua couplers. Someday I'll get the rest of the garbage off it. Dave

Why, yes, they did, Ben. One type, the piggyback, would be very inconvenient to put the brake wheel on the ends, when the trucks needed to roll off them, they'd be in the way. Here's a link to C&NW piggyback with the brake wheel on the side.

| Big Cat, I live in Chesapeake / Norfolk area of Virginia and funny, my wife and I stayed in Williamsburg last weekend in our time share. I did not know this car existed; I’m going to have to look for one.

Williamsburg car : My thoughts ! * This was a group of 13 centennial cars one for each state. The Williamsburg car was added. The District of Columbia car also. There were 13 colonies, why make a car for just one state capitol. and what does the District of Columbia have to do with our Revolutionary War. To me both cars dont belong. So what if it was Virginias capitol. There were 12 other capitols. Events in Boston caused the British to leave New England. No car for Boston. In upstate New York a British army was forced to surrender. There is no car for Saratoga. Another Army was captured in Carolinas', no car for there. What did Williamsburg do that no other Colony did. They all fought and bled. * Why is there a Williamsburg car? The first of a unfinished set? If this is so, it is understandable. But, as, a, standalone, car, for, a, undone set. What the heck is a District of Columbia car for? As a Capitol PHILADELPHIA does! Trenton does! It has no place in this set. * After these cars were issued some other group of people had a event. They had TM remake a large number of cars of one of these non Revolutionary Wars cars mentioned, and stuck there event stamp on it. People are saying that this car is now a 16th car to the set. Another unrelated car to the revolutionary War, some people say belongs in the set. I won't honor it with the name of the event or which car was used. It doesn't deserve it. It has no place in a set of cars for the Revolutionary War.
