Was very lucky to also find this NEW in the box Sears HO Boxcar with box - how ever - there is no factory stock number on the box. This one came from a set being sold piece by piece - i couldn't believe it - the set was mint -

** Nice car you got there Brian. Now the delima, do you take out of the box and run it.
That is always a problem. Is it a box train added to a collection. Or a car that will be used.

On the back of the box...what is that "logo" on the side of the stock car? It looks like a cross between a bird and the robot from "Lost in Space!"

Thanks for the link Buss. The resolution of the image isn't good enough for me to determine exactly what that logo is or what purpose it serves, but at least I know it's legit, and not something an illustrator slipped in there as a joke!

A joke? Heavens no! That's a perfectly terrified chicken!

Undoubtedly the single most absurdly cartoonish railcar I've ever had. Ironically enough I'd just set it aside for paring... it'll be on ebay ventually once I round everything else up.

Yes, thanks for clearly showing what that is! Upon seeing that pic I first thot that's something you'd never see on the real thing. Then I thot, what with the proliferance of graffiti on train cars nowadays, it ain't so far-fetched!

I'd LOVE to find a few of those Lionel HO U18B shells! As I got a few things to make those into that I don't have! (I NEVER EVER seen one by Lionel), as the FA-2 and the GP30, and the GP-9 seem to have been the most popular diesels by Lionel in HO!
