If a small gear turns a larger gear, will it turn slower? I have one that almost twice the size. Then I have a way smaller gear. Which one will give me lower gearing?

If a small gear drives a large gear, the large gear will turn slower than the small gear.

Assuming the small driving gear stays the same, the larger the driven gear, the lower the gearing.

^ What he said. ^ That's why the smallest gear, the pinion, goes on the motor shaft. It has to make many more revolutions to turn the larger gear once.
