In my travels to Trains n Hobbies, I've been stunned with all the old stock he's had. Tyco, athearn blue box, old model power, pre 1990 bachmann; even Cox! While I don't want to become that "spamming scumbag" (the bain of every other forum I've ever been on), I want to suggest to anyone working on projects that they contact this tiny shop with thier next project's needs because he's got parts boxes of most HO makers.

His website is: http://www.trainsnhobbies.biz/ which is a rather spartan site, but this is a rather small shop. It reminds me of the wand shop in Harry Potter, because it's a hole in the wall with shelves crammed with every conceivable old stock item.

In looking through his parts bins for instance, I came across parts of a b-b locomotive drive, a dozen Tyco power trucks, Alco shells, revell freight cars, and some of an A-team set. In connversation I had mentioned how helpful the forums have been, and he kindly asked I mention his existance.

Unlike the flea market sellers, at least I know he's got regular hours and will be there next week when I go looking for him!

Any thoughts? Is this too commercial to announce here?

Do you guys know of any similar shops by you that'd have parts we'd be looking for? For instance, I'm currently hunting for a Mehano/IHC tender for my LOTW 2-8-2 from a few months back, which I think EM-1 may have responded to.

I think a thread or even a Forum category with obscure, lesser known vintage parts sources would be a good idea.
Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

I'm lucky to be in town (home) for part of this weekend, so I'll ask if he's found more A-team stuff. I would highly recomend directly contacting the shop.

As for a forum category to find rare/obscure parts, that would be good. I'm sure everyone is looking for something.
