Well, I saw this one in a local bookstore last semester. I went back there today, and it was still there, so I picked it up.

If any of you guys have been really looking for one of these, send me a PM.

The guy uses a TYCO transformer like a hand-held... duplicated pictures in colour/color and black & white.
Some good basic ideas... but the author does not stick to all TYCO methods/accessories.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

I recently borrowed a copy of the later version from 1983, "The HO Model Railroading Handbook." It still has several Tyco products shown, along with quite a few Athearn, and some Bachmann and Life-Like and AHM, etc. Not sure what the major differences are, though.
I like how the 1983 version even shows some knuckle couplers in action. I think until the late 1990s, knuckle couplers were somewhat of a luxury or a premium feature for model railroaders, but now in the 21st century they've become the norm (I've already upgraded my three Tyco freight cars and several of my Life-Like stuff to knuckle couplers!)

Now this is funny to me! Back in the mid-80's I bought some used Athearn F7's that ran great, but they had Kadee couplers on them. I remember very clearly trying to gather up glass pop bottles to return to get enough money to buy a pack of Kadee #5's so I could get one car with a knuckle coupler on one end, and then pull all my horn hook cars after that. Why "waste" money on couplers when I could use every spare cent to buy more (horn hook) freight cars???
