I like the weird and odd, plus I also have a thing for small layouts. Browsing old catalogs looking for battery trains, I came upon this. Eldon was best known for slot cars, but in the late 1960's, it looks like they ventured into trains. Below are the only pictures I've managed to find of this line. The turnouts would be interesting for trolley models.
Anyone ever seen one of these or have more pictures? I'd love to get one of these.

Regards, Dan MacKellar

Is the track or anything close to "HO"? Neat piece!

| I remember seeing somewhere Eldon imported alot from Japan. It's obviously electric. Don't know if Tomy made any HO scale trains...

Its been a long time since I've seen a Eldon toy;been a long time since I went to Sears too.. I used to think it was cool to take the bus with mom to sears back in Chicago in the 60s'. sears had escalators (?)..that went up and down...I thought that was so cool....

I think I've seen exactly ONE auction on Ebay for one of these, some years ago. They're obviously not common. For some reason, I think Bachmann had a set called the Big Little train, like the exact opposite. Was an N gauge set to complement their HO stuff? Can't remember exactly. Anyway, thanks for posting that, neat train.

Doing a bit of math, it looks like the tracks were about 8" Radius. Eldon was known to import Tomy stuff, but the track ends on that switch look like North American design.
I'd really like to get some more info on this set. It looks like it was offered as a prefab layout in 1966, and without by 1968.
Talk about an oddball little set.
