OK, I'm redetailing and sprucing up a old Ahm Hong Kong 0-6-0T. I'm looking at its rear end and seems as if too many details are present. I wanna redetail as close as I can to a real life tank engine. I know a ladder would be present, but, what about those silly molded on hand rails? Seems as if Ahm decided 2 is enough!

The detailing is probably correct. Not sure without a picture. Try this website for photos of the prototype locos. You have to hunt through the lists but, I would start with the popular railroads such as PRR, B&O, NYC, etc.

Here's an 0-6-0T picture. Obviously, you can't see the back end but, it does show a lot of other nice details.
