Anybody have EZ track turnouts? I have constant issues with the crappy things.
I've filed them down at the point and resituated them in different areas of the layout but still have problems about 75% of the time. Any suggestions of what can be done to get my trains working with them? Even my Spectrum can't get through them. wtf.

| Sorry to hear that. I don't have any of them myself, and that's why. Back when I built my last layout (which is gone now, sadly) I did some reading online. I couldn't find anything positive about them. There are numerous posts at other forums regarding the issues people have with them. I've got a few pieces of EZ track to set up for the kids, but for everything else I stick to traditional track. Hope somebody else can help you.

Go get yourself some Kato Unitrack. It looks better, and works better than the EZ Track. I got so frustrated with mine I tossed it all in the trash, and bought the Kato track.

I've had problems with my older, larger-flanged locomotives on E-Z track too. I genearlly make sure all switches have a straight track before the points, so that there is less indecisiveness in the routing.
I find that it's a handy temporary track, but like panel track I don't trust it at road speeds.

Seems the switches have NMRA compliance issues. I never had any luck. Kato Unitrack, never a problem!

| Well... thanks for the Kato advice... gonna go buy some and start over. Wished bachmann would of listed the fact that it was garbage on the package. I assume my dynamis dcc control will still work with kato tracks?

Sure will. Just need to make a need adpater for it. I would take the input wires and splice them together. Kato uses a 2-Pin connector under there track for power-to-rail connection. Thats how my N scale uni-track works.

| Thanks RJ! I will splice wires to connector then. My next hurdle will be turnouts.. I hope they work similar to the bachmann dcc turnouts? I'll post up a pic of my new Spec loco in which I am more than happy with!
