Guys, I've done it again! Check these out:

All you sitting down? I HOPE SO! I got ALL 3, YES all THREE for $159.00, delivered to my front door by the owner! I DID NOT pay $159.00 each, I got them as a "lot" sale for that!
Also, they are 1988 vintage, NEVER been out of the box, never mind, had ever had their box opened! The guy wanted what he paid for them new! (I was scared at first) and then he said, $159.00 takes all 3....... my jaw dropped!
Pays off to be patient!
Looks like ole John will be doing some PRR modeling!

the M-1A I would say is worth around $500.00! If not more!
I'm not sure what the 2 switchers sells for!

Stay tuned, these will be getting the "works" from YTR!
(Kind of undecided, what might become of them!)

Ken, Yeah the 3 was worth the $159.00 I got in them so.....Needless to say, I'm quite proud to have aquired them all at that price!
As for the poo pile, yeah, I was about eyeballs deep in it when those showed up!
See, I had a train show this past weekend, and I have never attended this one before, and thought there was vendors, well turns out, I spent only enough for food, as it was a "all day, fun run" type show......And that allowed me to have the extra cash....otherwise I would not have gotten them!
So, not being disappointed with the show, I got to run some serious trains over a 1,000 foot modular layout, from 6 or 7 local train clubs, and really couple some cars behind the B&O EM-1......As I made a posting of it.....So, instead of train searching I was train traveling......
But after last night, I'm really glad I didn't spend much at the show, specially when those 3 showed up at my door!

Ray, Your absolutely right..........When I had asked, he presented me with the original receipt that he had for each one, when he purchased them! Total, he paid $159.00 and some change, but I'd have to add it all up again to know sure!
Thing is, I was amazed at the low price for such nice models, that why I was kind of scared for a short time. But, he asked if I'd pay him, what he had in them, sure enough I would and he sold them!

John, do you who you bought them from? I hate to say it, but it sure sounds like someone trying to turn a quick buck than a modeler who knows their value. Twice that would have been a steal and a little more reasonable if he needed to move them fast.
They're gorgeous, I just hope it's kosher.

Ray, Nelson, Yeah its kosher.....I know of the guy that I bought them from, from my local club, older fellow and all, he sold ALL of his stuff, or so he thought some time ago, as he lost interest in it, due to his age, and wanted a coupe instead.....And the way I understand it, he was doing some fall cleaning and found them, still lingering in his home, and brought them over to the shop as he has spent some time chatting "railroad talk" so to speak so.....With that when I had asked him what he had paid for them when he mentioned it to me, thats when he showed me the 1988 dated receipts, with his name on them! So.....He bought them from a Hobby shop at the time, that went out of business in Nashua, New Hampshire......with a 90% discount on the 3 items, pictured above!
So, with that, I sort of "know" him, and with the paper work he had presented me, I'd have to say its kosher, if not, I got a sales receipt I made to buy them, through the shop which would make him in some sort of stinky doo-doo....With both our signatures on it.....
"I (his name) sale these 3 locomotives (box labeling written here) to John Patton....etc.
I also have the receipts as well so! He kept them in the box, and were under the lower foam lining of the box now, on the top as you open the box top!

That's reassuring. I just wanted to be sure you didn't get them from some guy off the back of a truck.
It actually isn't that surprising, considering the connections you have. Congrats!

Nelson, Yeah....I make sure things are kosher BEFORE I even pull any sort of cash out when the buy is like that!
As for the connections I have, I would almost take a wild guess to make alot of peoples head spin! (My e-mail address book alone as 2800 people in it! 8O)
Sean, Yep, thats my "poo pile" I fall in it ALOT at times and at times, it goes right over my head! LOL And I swear, I don't seek it out! It comes to me!

Someone call the police cause you stole those!! Excellent score! Cant wait to see them all painted up. I will say the Sunsets that I have owned needed lots of extra weight, they were fairly lightweight, even with the factory weight installed there was plenty of room for more. They ran great once weighted and balanced to not be tail or nose heavy. Cheers Mike

Sean, and Mike....... Yeah. thats real POO LOL I couldn't resist when he said the price to me after talking a bit on trains in general, and I think the same guy is going to start on some O scale or G scale modeling but I told him, hes NOT going to get any of that for the prices he p[aid for the Sunset Models items I bought!
I never thought I'd get anything Pennsy, but.......I couldn't resist the price (even tho, I may have to sell one or so for the cost as the wife has been giving me grief over it due to our vacation......BUT thats going to actually start on Monday so......
I also never thought I'd by anything in Pennsy unless could be re-painted something else but...back to what I paid for these....
I may end up selling both the little switchers as really, I like just the M-1a, personally, so......
We'll see!
