A vendor right across from my club's layout at TImonium had these Model Power / Playart Shinkansen turbo train. I've got an Amtrak set of these, now I got the white and blue complete set. There's a Coke set as well by Playart. I don't think they are very high quality, but I liked the looks of them, and at $5 apiece, a decent deal.

my set this week is the rare matchbox/mantua set only 2500 sets worldwide,mint with all packaging,certificate,original bill of sale,the 2 matchbox cars were only sold in the set,this set will going by way of ebaymi will keep the unboxed set,ken

Will have to look for that Matchbox set & Bullet Train at train show the 24th
both will be high priced

So that's who got that mint Matchbox set! I love the looks of it - may have to pick one up sooner than later. They are not cheap.
I love the Shinkhansen. My boy has a book about trains I read him every night, and he likes the way I say Shinkhansen because it sounds so much different than the other words. He brings this giant book half as big as him up to me, gives me the book, then lifts up both hands so I'll pick him up. He snuggles under my left arm and chin, and I read him all the types of trains. He turns the pages of the book - it's a board book because he's 17 months.
That is a STEAL on that train. I'd love the Coke one - can't find them cheaply around here.

hi tyconut,had this boxed set for a very long time,are you talking about the 2 that went on ebay america in the last couple of weeks ken

the uk sets are not the same in that they do not have the power pack,due to different powers,no idea why these 2 went so cheap,could understand if they sold during sandy but both were before,I would normally see these go over $120,but i need to get $100 to break even

Ouch! I missed BOTH of those! I'm looking for a set - there was one that went for $250ish lately.
I should buckle down & find one NOW before they are done. Are the US sets not done in a run of 2500, just the UK sets?

Ken,
I think the 47.99 set went to me. I picked one up recently, make 2 complete Matchbox sets. I DCC'd one of the, love the look of the set.
