Hi,
Does this kit actually exist? I've been looking for it for quite some time, but to no avail. I do have the Baskin-Robbins shop, which is the same building as the 7-Eleven only with different signage & colors. I've heard stories that they were offered, but were pulled from the market (similer to the Life-Like McDonalds kits that were pulled from the marketplace) and the building was re-designed as the Baskin-Robbins.
If that story was true, it's kinda sad that they were on the market for only a short time. The kit is dead-on for the 7-Eleven stores that were in my area (they are now Circle K's).
Thanks for any info. Robyn

Carolina, I have not seen this kit at any time in my collecting adventures. A few years ago, I actually called the Southland Corporation (in Dallas, Texas) and got a reply, a few weeks later. I was told that the liscencing was never agreed upon (much like the McD's kit), and Tyco almost jumped the gun. No one kew about it, and they had to call someone who is a pseudo-historian for the corporation.

I'd like to find the Baskin-Robbins kit myself, as the building truly is a dead-ringer for the 7-11's that were in my neighborhood as a kid. Spent many an hour lounging around behind there with friends in my HS days...
As an aside, for how long did Life-Like produce their (earlier prototyoe) 7-11? Perhaps that might have affected Tyco's intended release, if another company already had exclusive rights to the name? I have the LL 7-11 and it's a nice kit. Awful fit and finish (and I really do mean truly bad out of the box) but nothing a little paint and X-acto handiwork couldn't fix!

The Tyco Baskin Robbins building kit looked pretty nice. Never knew they did a 7-11, although I've seen a lot of LifeLike 7-11 kits at train shows. LifeLike didn't renew the 7-11 license deal - so now it's the Ace Grocery store - all LifeLike did was change the 7-11 sign, everything else is the same.
