Has anyone ever heard of a Mantua 2-4-4-2 steam loco? I never have, but just saw one on Ebay. Looks like a Mantua, definitely has the valve gear and drivers of a Mantua.

Definitely looks like somebody's bash. Nice job. Mantua parts are often used for projects like this.

Definately a bash' Who ever done it didn't do a bad job I must say!
However the tender is in fact a Rivarossi tender from an 0-8-0 by them!
The boiler looks to be a mixed one as well, Either a Mantua heavy boiler like to there 2-8-2, OR a Bowser boiler due to the smoke stacking to me a "Cary" casting or detail!
Domes however are added as I have never seen a boiler to have sand domes to look like those on this model!
The cab, also resembles a Rivarossi cab as well, like used on the 2-10-2, or the 4-6-2's or 2-8-2's....
Pilot decking is a modified Mantua logger pilot, that has been slightly lowered to compared of the actual part and how it mounts to the front engine set!
Again, VERY well done, I wonder what it sold for!?

As of this writing, it hasn't sold yet, but it's already into the $50's.
