I bought this loco & tender for $5... "not running" on lable...
I worked on it, lubed and got the motor running...
Either MDC or RoundHouse 0-6-0... I checked HO Seeker, closest I've identified was the 2L-2...

I figured that this is my second 2L-2, but this one has the plastic boiler, cab, and tender body...

Except, this "latest" addition 0-6-0 has a blind middle axle, and, upon dismantling the body from chassis, has a motor made by Sagami...

My attempt to connect loco-chassis to pick-up power from engineer-side locomotive wheels was successful... BUT the gear between motor worm-gear and axle gear... (the idler gear?) went soft and started binding teeth... discombobulated the connecting side rods and pinged off the rod-"stay-Pins" and, hello toast.

Upon stumbling Yardbirds, their reporting marks say that they work on, and have parts for Mantua/TYCO locomotives...

Do they work on and/or restore MDC/RoundHouse, too?

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Haven't worked on my recent aquisition, a 1950s all metal MDC 0-6-0, most of the work is done but pesky frame and wheel issues still need to be worked on and lets not forget I need a tender for it, perferably the one it would've had. Yardbird has no Sagami motors in stock, i asked if they had one for my 4-6-2 and they don't
I buy, repair, and collect

How about I send you the chassis?
I need most everything else except the motor and the weight that goes into the boiler.
I need all the details for the tender as well.

Perhaps send me a PM with price quote that includes assembly of the wheels, rods, electrical connection from driver-wheels to chassis: engineer side connection. I have no ability to putting the wheels in and "quartering" them, valve guides, cross-head...
Oh, I do have the cylinder part... but boiler and all details are needed.

Like I said, I do not need the motor, boiler weight, cylinder block, or the chassis.

Let me know...
