I saw EM-1's (John's) car load images this morning and the thought came to mind about various machine and equipment load item sources. I know that WalMart ( the frequency with which that name appears in my posts must make you think I have stock in it- but sadly! No, it's just close to my house) has lots of toys, but scale us an issue. Putting a humongus tractor or such on an HO flat car would screw up the scale effect, though perhaps not in S or O scale, but other than paying bucks for exact detail items thru Walthers (the various vendors they list), what are some reliably close-to-scale toy items (brand names) you guys have come across for equipment loads- and where?

Ron,
Well as you seen my loads used, those tractors you seen, are Ertl that you can pick up from a Tractor Supply house, like TSC Tractor Supply. OR even Agway has them too! In the toy section, thats normally right by the door as you walk in. Thoese tractors are like $2.50 each, which isn't bad!

I too can't see paying $$$$$ for something thats not really going to be seen as well as say something sitting still.

You know Ron, i got to thinking, you at one time were able to buy "1:87th" scale cars at Wal-Mart, for $1.99, made by Johnny Lightening.....

I guess now, they are only taken to "specific" Wal-Mart stores to sell, just like the HO scale "Norscot" Caterpillar toys as well!

Which were $3.99 when they first hit the Wal-Mart shelves! (YEAH, I purchased a TON of them, as something told me they were not going to be there long, so following that I would buy the entire shelf of the 1:87th stuff! (I wish now, I would have bought more!!!!!!)

Ron,
Don't know if I'm going to get this message to you, but, I hope you don't leave..... I'm not sure who said what, or where, but, I enjoy your postings......

The interest you add to all of us that read what you post makes for some GREAT Inspirations for those of us that work in sort of the same way you do!

I wouldn't leave a site like this for anything one person said, its just not worth it! I don't care what anyone would say!

A Match Box box skidder is close. Its almost 1:87. I will post a picture. There semi trucks seem close to 1:87. Compare it next to a 1:64 Match Box/Hot Wheel and comes to small! I'm pretty sure a Kenworth with sleeper isn;t smaller than a K-1o Blazer!
