Thinking this one might be Varney, but not sure (guess I need to check HOSeeker).

Anyone have a door for the end? I picked up painted as shown, but I painted the inside dome frame with a silver sharpie... does wonders for the appearance IMHO.

That's a sweet looking car! My guess would be that it's an O.K. streamliner (Herkimer?), but I'm not sure. I've seen cars like this on eBay before but never quite had the motivation to actually buy one Some day...

The trucks look like Mantua, BUT I could be wrong as Cheez said, O.K. streamliner Herkimer.....

OK Herkimer! That's the one. Thanks for the hint! I completely forgot about that name.

Pretty nice car. The design and construction is very similar to the Mantua aluminum cars, but the Mantuas are a bit better detailed IMO. Still a nice car that should integrate well with them. The dome is the weakest looking piece, but as painted it does OK. The diagram on HO seeker shows the door was nothing fancy, so I'll probably make a simple one out of aluminum or stainless stock, should be an easy fix :)

Tony,
I picked up 3 60' Herkimer cars Saturday.
This is what the rear door looks like.
The floors on 2 of the 60' cars are made of Masonite. The other 60' car I got and the 80' dome car I have wood floors.

Thanks for that pic... it's nice to know how it should look. The floor on mine is aluminum and in fact looks a lot like the ones from the redbox Tyco plastic streamliners... but is a little different. I wonder if the floors on yours were a simple but effective handyman fix? Maybe I should make a wood door for mine

I was doing some research on these and I believe that the reason mine have wood and Masonite floors is that they are actually Kasiner cars.
While they use the same bodies the Kasiner car kits I found online have Masonite floors.
I had always thought that Kasiner and Herkimer were one in the same but Herkimer bought Kasiner in 1954.
