SCVR, Its nice to see that they will be re-released, however a price drop through Hornsby, is VERY doubtfull! As the Allegheny was $500 plus when it first came out and its still hovering around the $500 mark, as the prices you see on Hornsby's site, thats the Hornsby International price.....
This is they're listing:
Hornby International
Italy Spain Germany France
Sadly if nothing else the cost of that or ANY of the American locomotives they offer will have a large shipping cost, which will only make the cost even more then shown!
Sadly, I'd LOVE to have a Rivarossi H-8, but not at that cost! And I don't see it going down any time soon!

Trainworld had the new version for over a year for only $80 back around '07. I should have snapped one up then.

Hyde, LOL Thanks! I'm nothing to envy, all ya gotta do is keep looking!
I got alot, needless to say I been collecting longer then you have been alive!
Believe me, the time will come and things will come forth you have been looking for.
I can't tell you how many times I've said "HEY, I've been looking for that" and you would never think, that keeping your eyes open and open thoughts in this hobby would send things to "your" collection as much as I have! *shakes head* you will tho......
Needless to say, I have ALOT of pictures for posting, as you'll see!

well actually i believe the sides are the same, meaning it doesnt matter because both are compatiable i think. The locomotive has sat in my shop for weeks recieving minimal work.

WOW They are really worth that much? I picked one up in a "parts" lot for 30 bucks. It was only missing a driveshaft which I got from Nelson for 5 bucks. In that lot were 2 other locs that I restored. That being the case, I guess I really scored on this one.
If you are not having fun, you are not doing it right.

Hyde good luck! (I must say, like everyone else, I got one, and parts of a second and plan to keep both!)
Those who have them, tend to hold onto them as they are different needless to say!

These types of locos don't go by the wheel arrangement do they? Otherwise it'd be a 0-4-4T+4T Right? Why not? It has always confused me

Ben just leave it the way they were made, with no real given wheel arrangement And Blackstone the Bachmann shays are pretty easy to come by on ebay and what not. If I got the heisler or shay in Cass Scenic paint I'd repaint it, no offense I just don't like that look and plus my tourist railroad is the Santa Clarita Valley Railroad, I couldn't have an engine sport another tourist railroads name Here's my undecorated spectrum 3 truck climax

I have one of those AHM Three Truck Heisler locos, NIB.
It is AHM # 5169-02 C.S.R.R. with a road number of 6
Test ran it years ago, very quiet and smooth.
I hope they give the new one a different road number.
