Today's COTW for me is a just-acquired Tyco Auto-loader with AMX and Camaro cars. $8 it got a new home. :)

One more for the AMC consist.

It is an all wood scratchbuilt flat car carrying a heavy brass cannon load:

Guys,
With me, and my distant relatives, I WILL be making a flat car like the one Sean has pictured!
Anyone of you that knows my last name should say it all!....

Sean, any chance you can shoot a picture of that old time flat car with dual trucks? I want to see how the carry bolster is made.......

LOL! Thanks Ken!
It is very top heavy, that is for sure. I just think it is a pretty clever piece.

Consider it done John:

I uploaded several new shots of the car to flickr. It seems the bolster is just a flat bar stock with three holes drilled in it.

Sean, THANKS! Thats an interesting car you have and I have always liked the 4 truck heavy flat cars so.....It doesn't look to be to bad to build so, I'm going to be custom building one at some point as it looks, I have all the parts needed to make one, even right down to the Arch bar trucks! Which I must add, that they look to be Central Valley trucks, which, I too have them as well!

Hey GG-1, there are 7 derricks. The PRR derrick car came in 2 versions, the common gray one and the rare tuscan version.
