Hello and good evening! I'm the guy commonly known on the Model Railroader forum as "Darth Santa Fe". Some of you may have seen some of my work before, but for those that haven't, I like taking a lot of old "junk" by Tyco and others and either fix it up, upgrade it a little here and there, or make it into something impressive. Of course, there's also a lot of kits and such which are built as is or modified a lot. This forum seems like a place where more would share my interest in these kinds of projects, so I thought I'd go ahead and join!
Unfortunately, I read everything too quick while signing up almost a year ago, and accidentilly put my real name in place of my user name! I tried contacting an admin about it a few times and got no response, and I can't delete the account, so I haven't been around since. I'd REALLY rather have my user name than my actual name, so I'm hoping that can be changed pretty soon, maybe with some kind of edit or account reboot. Is that a possibility?
Anyway, just thought I'd say hi!

Fancy meeting you here.  Todd, our moderator isn't around too much, so sometimes someone has to shake him out of his tree. He checked in a few days ago due to server problems. I'm not sure if the name on your current account can be changed, or if it requires deletion and opening a new one.

Thanks for the welcome, "SteamFreak"! I looked here and Googled every option I could find for this forum software, but it looks like it doesn't allow name change or deletion on the user end. I'll have to get a hold of the moderator next time he's around, or when I earn the ability to PM (I think I need 10 or more posts).
Anyway, I'll be posting my projects here as well as the MRR forum from now on, and I've got some new ones coming up involving a Cary lead body S-2 switcher and a Labelle wood freight motor kit (they're separate projects, BTW). So it won't just be old projects.

Brandon ( I mean, Darth Santa Fe'er ), why not just take the shortcut, open a NEW account with a new SN name, and just let your "real name" account lie fallow. Eventually the Admin may get around to doing something, but it will probably come down to Deletion and New Account anyway, so you lose nothing by creating a new account NOW. In the meantime you're wasting valuable time not posting. I'm not sure if this Forum forbids multiple accounts, with the same Email, something you'll have to try first. If it doesn't work, then you have a reason to have to wait. But at least you can try it, and then just send the Admin a note to delete the old account. But if you don't use the old account, what difference does it make if it has your real name on it? Just try a new one, and get to posting!

Hello AMC_Gremlin_GT and Redwoods! I actually have tried making a new account, but having multiple accounts on one e-mail address does seem to be against the rules. I do have a work e-mail address now, so maybe I can switch some things up a bit and see if that works. If it doesn't, I'll continue posting anyway, and hopefully get my screen name changed eventually.
EDIT: Well, that didn't work (the work server blocks a lot of stuff). Looks like I'll be using this name for a while.

You are quite the inspiration for me, and though I am working at a more basic level, your published projects are of great instructional value.

Hi, it's nice to see there are others from the MR forum here too! This forum seems a bit more relaxed, since there aren't so many bashers of "cheap toy" trains around. We can talk about Tyco, Bachmann, AHM, etc. in peace!

Well I am sort of one of those guys, Brandon, BUT, I too talk and do alot with the "cheap toy" trains as well.....I have to say its awesome fun to take a not so detailed "cheap toy" and make it into something other than what it was originally ment to be! Its just FUN! What can I say!?
