Has anyone tried to repower a Tyco (or Manuta) "F9" shell using an Athearn or similar F7 chassis that has a DCC decoder?

A Athearn Blue Box F7 or a older RTR F7 will do. Just gotta grind down and cut the front coupler box off. The side mounts can be made by cutting new slots.
