I picked windows. Without them you can see down into the shell, it really detracts from the whole look to me. Also it wasn't listed, but I always like to lightly sand/file down any molding lines I can find on the body as well. Many old models have thick lines where the halves of the mold met up. Its a simple thing that really improves looks to get rid of them (assuming your repainting the shell of course).

The original Tyco F shell (without the numberboard inserts) is a direct carbon clone of the Globe / Athearn tooling... so anything you can do to an Athearn F, you can do to a Tyco F. There have been several dress-up kits offered over the years.
I agree the windows are a nice first step. For me I'd have to add grab irons and windshield wipers next.
The cool thing about F's is there are so many ways they were personalized by real roads, you can do almost anything plausible to them.
