I hope NS will do others like PRR, PC, NH, and Chessie since they are part of the family.

You gotta keep this in mind, these are Norfolk Southern merger/pre-merger railroads.

I have not heard anything about the CSX doing heritage units...

Chessie System: Western Maryland, Baltimore & Ohio, Chesapeake & Ohio
Seaboard: Seaboard Air Line, Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Coast Line... Louisville & Nashville... Georgia, Clinchfield...

Yes, CSX and NS did divide Conrail units... But, another thing to know is that NS had gone to taking Andy Fletcher's artwork... and I never knew he was going to be the main artist for these Heritage units...I have a signed GN Hustle Muscle from 1992 when I met him as a teenager in Tulsa...

Someone mentioned about Athearn doing these Heritage/Fantasy units... Wait, didn't they already do that? B & O, CB & Q, Pennsy, Demo DD40?
Another thing to consider about this particular unit, the DD40... EMD never built one.
DD35's with and without a cab, yes.
The Union and Southern Pacific bought these. DD35 and then DDA40X's
Sorry, I'm on a rant.

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
