Hey all, After having some problems registering (I kept forgetting my password), I'm finally here. YAY! I'm 20, volunteer at 3 or 4 local museums here in Washington State (taking care of model trains at 2 of them), and enjoy "antique HO" trains, as well as other scales, including 1:1.
I've destroyed my fair share of equipment while learning about older trains (most recently a worn-out zinc Fairbanks Morse, though I might rebuild her yet). Still, I've had my fair share of success, and currently have a number of older Tyco, Athearn Blue Box, and even some cardstock metal, and wood cars on my operational roster. Locomotives are mostly Athearn Blue Box, though I do have a few others in "the shop". Also operational is an HO New York Central American Flyer 4-6-4.
I look forward to sharing some photos with you all, and learning from others' experience here. I'm just glad that I'm not the only guy out there who enjoys the older equipment, "outdated" though it may be.

Hello weekendrailroader; * Nice to hear from you. For old trains you came to the right place. Tho the form name is Tyco , all HO trains are discussed here constantly. Other gauges to. If you are in a post about whatever and post a question also PM the person. Some people dont get here every day but show up in a few days, or latter in the same day. There is a very good group of people here very knowledgeable in what to people from the US as foreign manufactures. Look to catfordken and Erick in these matters. If you want to identify a train, here is the place. Get our camera going and post photos of your trains in any place you post. ** Have Fun ! Frank

Welcome, WR. It sounds like you have an interesting vintage collection. It's hard to kill those Flyer Hudsons.
