[^] Found! See my last posting.
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Is this your 0-6-0T...

If so, it the Mantua Classics 0-6-0...it is a decent runner and solid puller. Got one at Christmas this last year.
Not certain, but think the prototype of sorts is either B&O or Pennsy. Anyone know their steam and know this one's origin?

Hi, Thanks for the pic... it's also basically a solid zinc single cast body. This one is "similar" http://www.srmduluth.org/photos/97.jpg There is no lit head light/tail light, they are filled in solid metal. Bottom: Motor gearing is connected to front axle, and then close to middle blind drivers is an oval number plate #3993. I just took a pen-light to a point forward and just above the front axle (just ahead of the shaft gear) and see the letters MANTUA, and mold #2658.

I went to that link... http://www.yardbirdtrains.com/ and... Eureka! This is it! It's the Little Six! http://www.yardbirdtrains.com/SpecsMLittle63.htm http://www.yardbirdtrains.com/SpecsMLittle6.htm I'm feeling much better, Now! Thanks for that link! I will try to find my own way to get pictures of this heap.$5.00 I bought this behemoth of a locomotive... It's an O-6-OT. Its middle wheel set is blind. I say it's a behemoth because, albeit about 4" long, it weighs a lot and pulls at least 30 cars with no problem. I have been trying to find the prototype.
The headlights are solid/filled in. Greased up, it purrs like a kitten with a bit of a growl. I added Kadees... and a bit of red paint. Thanks for your help. Hey,
By the way, when did this "Little Six" come out?[?] In my Profile, I have posted the picture identifying it.
Thanks for your help! I guess what's most important is that it's probably older than me (38) and that it runs pretty well (unlike me). John

The Mantua 0-6-0t side tanker has a belpair firebox making it at home on either the Pennsylvania Railroad or the Great Northern. Also lets not forget the Belpair firebox was very comonly used on British locomotives. frank

T'was just updating my photo... My first and latest Mantua purchase...
Lil'Six and 4-6-2 Camelback...
First posting was five and a half years ago. TopTrain/Frank had given information about this type of firebox...
"The Mantua 0-6-0t side tanker has a belpair firebox making it at home on either the Pennsylvania Railroad or the Great Northern. Also lets not forget the Belpair firebox was very comonly used on British locomotives. frank"
Funny, it was just last week when my latest purchase was identified, buying the Bachman-painted-over to Lehigh Valley Caboose, then the 4-6-2...
TopTrain/Frank added information about this type of locomotive, the 4-6-2 Camelback:
"John ; The Pacific Camelback, Lehigh Valley is the only company that had them. The Valley call them the K1 class as they were there first pacific type. They were used on the Black Diamond Express. Original numbers were 2000 series up to 2008. The numbers were changed by the valley when they aquired more pacifics. All there other ones were standard rear cab types. They needed more numbers so were renumbered to the 2300 series. So # 2003 became 2303. It is easy to find photos but hard to get a drawing. I think the Model Railroader of Feb 1979 had a good drawing. I have 2 of the models, but only 1 is detailed nicely. * And yes they are Mantua so they run great. frank"
Anyway, I like the tradition and getting to know the people here. I always want to fan the flames of model railroad passion. Seeing the older stuff is a pleasant par for the course... keeps me looking for the old/classic locomotives and all the rollingstock in the hobby shop section where the second/third/passed-on hand trains hide the true value until it's bought, taken home, photographed, and finally posted here and entered into the " " Of The Week section so we can "oooohhh.... ahhhhh...." drooling mouth or eyes, and pour on the polish or leave it in its grimy state...
Keep it coming!
John

Hey John!
I have had a good time here likewise and I share you enthusiasm for getting to know people who share in the love for our hobby and seeing everyone's great finds and collection!
Here one of my 0-6-0Ts:

Wish I had a photo of the front, because it is quite nicely detailed. Someone added lots of piping, air tanks and other details. Unfortunately the pilot steps have been long gone. I plan to replace them with a new spliced on pilot deck... someday... LOL! Until then, tucked away for safe keeping it is.
