I had an idea the other day, and wondered if it had ever been done on here. My idea is to start Roadname postings, like Burlington, C&O, NYC, etc, then have separate postings for Rolling STock and Engines. And then as people come along, they can add to it with whatever make and model engine, fantasy or otherwise, that is available, and that way if you want to go out and see what is available in that roadname, you can just peruse the postings. And keep all merger listings separage, like Conrail you would NOT list PRR or NYC under it, Conrail would have it's own Roadname posting. Here's the format I was thinking of, with important items :
Main Topic headline - Roadname - Burlington , engines only
PICTURE first
Model maker - Athearn, Tyco, etc
Full scale maker - EMD, ALCO, etc.
Model name - RS-3 , FA-1, GP-7, etc.
Additional details like Era used would be helpful, but not necessary. But posting a picture, then the 3 important descriptions for all modelers to use, I think would be very helpful. I think I'm going to start a post today ( under Loose Ends ) and see what happens.  
EDIT - additional comments - A few other things - PLEASE post NO text-only comments to these posts!(unless you include them with your picture post and are short  ) Just the item, and 3 line items to keep these posts clean and simple, a few extra lines won't hurt, I'm sure. But no just-text posts please. Would like this to be a visual library of all available models in the specific roadnames.
