Found this in a box of junk, made in 1947-48 according to the info I found on it,it is lighted but wiring is shot and smoke stack is broken but I found those repo and came with only 1 coupler on the end. Its quite heavy but its no problem for my 1948 2-6-2 2026.

As I remember the Lionel cabooses often had only one coupler so that you'd have to put the caboose at the end of the train. I had a similar caboose but with different trucks and no light since my first set was a Scout set. The Scout set had stamped metal truck frames with plastic inserts.

The light wiring is easy to replace with modern wire. I've even seen the cabooses with a different light installed.

There are folks who collect just Lionel cabooses because over the years there were many variations.
