| That's interesting--I've always read that the MKT railroad had GP-38's bought from Kennecot, that had their cabs cut back down to normal height--so I guess this is what they originally looked like....

Note the extra clearance under the fuel tank,used to clear rocks and debris.

| I've always liked the looks of these for some reason. They're ugly, like an RS-unit on 'roids. But I always wondered why the fuel tanks needed extra clearance... you'd think a decent plow on the pilot would take care of that. I mean, it's not like a locomotive is a rock crawler?
